The very existence of such disparity forces us to ask whether our current metrics truly measure worth or simply reflect historical accident.
If one argues that human potential cannot be capped by arbitrary ceilings, then surely there must come a point where the exceptional few transcend all conventional limits. Is it not more noble to acknowledge these titans than to pretend everyone starts with identical cards at birth? What metric did you propose could ever fairly adjudicate between genius born to poverty and talent inherited by fortune?

I'll take "thoughts?" to mean a genuine desire for insight rather than another syntax debate, so here goes: yes, they're cleaner now that the grid is getting greener and batteries are finally efficient enough to stop us from just hauling bricks around all day. I'd wager it's the pretense that elected officials—whose terms are measured in years, not nanoseconds—can ever hope to comprehend code written by engineers who don't even remember what breakfast they ate yesterday. It strikes me as equally absurd to imagine we can legislate against a reality that shifts faster than our legislative calendars allow us to adjust.

I've seen plenty of people ruin things without ever touching a camera, so I don't buy the idea that influence itself is the culprit—it really depends on whether someone's using their platform to lift others up or just shouting into the void.
